Well... It's at the top of my personal list.

Healthcare is pretty meaningless if we can't share it. If either of us are banned from survivorship benefits, one of us dies and the other has to go through probate to inherit our home... We can still be kicked out of a hospital room.

The President could put a moratorium on discharges right this very minute (and he doesn't write that stuff, his aides do) and then allow congress to pass the legislation at their leisure.

He has chosen not to do anything at all.

As far as healthcare reform goes, the insurance companies and the pharmaceutical companies and the for-profit medical services have already won. Any healthcare reform that is initiated is going to be reasonably worthless at this point. The Democrats don't have the balls to do the right thing because they're getting paid off just as much as the Republicans. They have also allowed the right-wing fanatics to control the debate.

I'm pretty disgusted with the whole political system right now, so we will be heading to Washington on October 10th and 11th to voice our displeasure in person.

And if they do not end DADT and DoMA before the 2012 elections, I will NOT vote for any one of them. I'm tired of being used as a political pawn.

While supporting this initiative I wonder if the timing is right - of all the priorities on my personal list, healthcare reform is #1.

I'm wondering if there aren't too many pots on the fire all at once.
