Tim & Victor'sChristmas Letters

2004

Here it is—what you’ve all been waiting for!  It’s our 2004 Christmas letter!

Well, we didn’t win the lottery again this year, nor did we find a cure for the common cold, but we did have a bit of fun!  The biggie this year was celebrating our 10th Anniversary!  We went up to NYC, saw Aida at The Metropolitan Opera (2nd row, center stage seats!!!) stayed at a lovely boutique hotel, ate fabulous food, and shopped—of course!  It was just what a 10th Anniversary should be—slightly indulgent, fun, and romantic!

Our next extravagance is a trip to Paris in May.  10 days!  Neither of us have ever been to The City of Light, so we’re really looking forward to it.  Tim is trying to learn a bit of French, and we’re both actively searching our Frommer’s and Michelin guides for what to see and do.  We have our copies of the Paris Metro and our walking maps, so we’re planning away!

It was a year of being domestic—having the house painted, getting new “Dixie Gutter Guard” gutters (and if you live in an area with lots of leaves—they’re worth the price!!) moving fences and expanding the back yard.  Boring stuff, but it’s what ya do when ya have a 54 year old home in the suburbs.

We both spent a lot of time working on The Election this year. We hold the record for having 22 Kerry signs stolen from our front yard, too.  As a final act of defiance, Tim spot-lit the signs and entire house in Red, White, and Blue.  Victor walked door to door dropping literature and also was a Poll Greeter. Tim was a Poll Watcher.  Sadly, our candidate did not win, but we do take pleasure in knowing we live in a Blue State.  May 2008 get here quickly and without irreversible damage.

Tim was (and is) a volunteer for The Relay For Life for the American Cancer Society as an Online Chairperson, running an ACS donation web site, and creating an informational web site for them.  He’s created several other web sites for family and friends, as well.  Who knows—maybe he’ll actually get paid for one, one of these days!

Victor is still with World Travel, running their support department.  To say it’s a challenge is putting it mildly.  The only true saving grace is that he does work from home.  Well, that and the sometimes deals we can get on hotel rooms. Tim is still with Trader Joe’s, putting little pieces of food in little paper cups for people.  It’s a lot of fun.  He also created a web site for his store with all the recipes he and his Demo Partner Ruth have created.  It’s attracted a lot of attention from TJ stores across the country.

Cybil, our shepherd/border collie was named Miss May for our Vet’s 2005 calendar!  She’s still the joy of our lives .  Smart as a whip, she has us wrapped around her little paw.  She has “Daddy Marshmallow” (Victor) And “Daddy Means It” (Tim) down to a science.

Well—’nuff for now!  We hope you all have a happy and prosperous 2005!

Tim and Victor…..
